This Photo Illustration was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement. It was put together using two photos. One involved a staged pose with an assistant holding an empty Smith & Wesson .40 caliber handgun to the temple of my photographed model, Brandon Smith. The second photo is of Smith’s hands in handcuffs around his back. I used the Lasso tool to crop out the image of the handcuffed pose then I layered it over the first picture of my photographed model. I lowered its opacity as well as used the Eraser tool to get rid of some of the extra clipping in the photo. Once I resized the handcuff image, I placed it on top of the painted-over eye. After adjusting the photo’s levels, I merged the two layers to give a smooth finish. (Photo By: Osej Serratos)
